My hamster looks retarded?

My Dad let me get a hamster today. I found the cutest hamster but it was 2 young to see what sex it was so i don't know yet. I names it sweet pea. when i put it in its cage it went in the corrner and it started shaking, i looks retarded. I also need to know what the tempitur should be in my room? i also need to know if its ok if my friend puts her hamster in the same room as mine to see how they react. and do 4 week old hamsters bite? and my hamster wont let me touch it, it didn't act like this at the pet store. whats wrong with it? help. and what eles should i know about bringing hamsters home.? thnks

Dont worry i am sure he is not retarted. He is like most animals that get put into a place they have never been in! He is probably just scared :). Dont worry everything will be alright in a couple days. And i wouldnt introduce the two hamsters right now i would say wait a couple days and also he might not let you pick him up because you and him are scared. Your hands need to move quick but make sure to be gentle!

so it will no that ur not there to harm it

but to take care of it

just be careful and take it slowy

Reply:Wait for a while before touching him or attempting to let him out. And i think you shoiuuld just wait for a whil until you know the hamster is healthy and everyhting before letting her out with other hamsters. Sometimess, when hamsters come from sstores they may be sick and the other hamster may get it. I just think you should leave some time for the hamster to get used to itsnew habitat before doing much with her. And the hamster will probably bite, but soon shell get used to you so dont worry too much. Make sure she has the right food, fresh water, a wheel, and an average sized caage to start with and shell be fine.

Reply:it's scared because its still a baby and it is alone. it's crying for other hamsters. when i first got my baby hamster it was trembling and scared but in a few days it turned brave
Reply:Well you just got him and he's in a new place with new people so naturally he or she is scared.Don't worry about it,it's just scared it all.
