Help is there something wrong?

I have 2 dogs i recently moved to a place where they arent aloud inside. My one dog niko was a little whinny at first because they are used to being able to do what they want but now he is fine but my other dog sweet pea will just howl night and day it sounds like she is sad its kinda upsetting do you think something is wrong with her.

P.s i let them run around awhile off the chain and she acts fine
Help is there something wrong?
She probably is sad because she's used to being inside. It sounds like you spend enough time with your dogs and she will adjust once she figures out this is the way it has to be, although I'm sure it's upsetting and you're very stressed out over it, I would be. Would you mother consider letting them sleep in the garage at night? Outside isn't an option for me (I fall into the "idiot" category) because there are coyotes that could jump our 4ft. fence and my small dogs would be a tasty snack. Do you have any family members you could beg to watch your dogs while your house is being remodeled? Good luck.
Reply:Sweet Pea is just reacting to the change. I'm sure she's unhappy with not be able to be with you. Dogs are pack animals in the wild. You would be part of Sweet Pea's pack, and now she is without your companionship. She'll be fine once you are back into your normal surroundings. In the meantime, just try to reassure her. Leave something with your scent for her to sleep on. Hopefully you'll be back in your own place soon.
Reply:The dog's are used to being around people, and indoors. They will howl because they are upset.

Why are dogs not allowed inside the building? This was something that should have been considered prior to your move - no dog should be left outside day and night. They are very social animals and need human interaction.

As for the howling, to be honest, there is no easy solution. the dog might eventually get accustomed to being alone, however, depending on their age sweet pea may never really settle in.
Reply:Im no doctor but you might consider the fact that they should go to the vet and get looked at.
Reply:your dog is just being whinny... my rottie does this when he has to go out and never mind these idiots who are saying the dogs shouldn't be out. dog lived outside before we ever had the conception to bring them in and in fact most dogs will prefer it out side as they have heavy coats and in our warm houses they can become over heated! There's nothing wrong with your dog other than she wants to be inside and with you... give her a few days and be sure they have adequate shelter... she'll get used to it.
Reply:there might be something scaring your dog.(foxes or even the dark) give it a week and then ask your local vet for advice.
Reply:Dogs are social animals. They cannot thrive without companionship. By keeping them outside, they're being deprived of their psychological needs. If it's not possible to allow them inside it will be in their best interest to find another home for them.
Reply:She is sad because she is not allowed to come and inside and she is on a chain all the time. What is wrong with you? Dogs are pack animals -- they need to be part of your pack!

Why don't you see if there is someone else who can give them a good home? A dog should NEVER be left chained, and I strongly believe dogs belong inside, unless they are working dogs. Anything else is a PET - PETS belong INSIDE!
